Welcome to the Hawaii SPCA

in Maili-Waianae

About Our Charity

Inspired by a life-changing event, Hawaii SPCA in Maili-Waianae was established in 2014.

Many of you know us from work at Fusion Waikiki, Scruples, Chili’s or Zippy’s, Big City Diner, Lewers Street Annex (and Fish Company too) Morton's the Steakhouse, and The Honolulu Pride Festival Foundation. Maybe you know us from our Wedding DJ Business, Miller DJ Hawaii.

So many jobs over the years, so many friends made in every place!

We are now full-time animal rescue workers with our 501c3 charity, the Hawaii SPCA, amazing right? We sanctuary Dogs, Rabbits, Cats, Chickens & our Pig Oreo here on the daily.

We have adoptable animals as well as long term and permanent residents. We also work with a number of houseless folks to look after their fur kids until they have their feet under them again. The COVID19 pandemic has really hurt a lot of people and animals since it all began. There are so many that need help.

How You Can Help

Unless someone like you cares an awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.

Helping Others

One of the main reasons Hawaii SPCA in Maili-Waianae was founded in 2014 was to compensate for the greater Waianae area’s struggles with Homeless and Abandoned Animals. We’ve dedicated a lot of man-hours and invested countless resources to this charitable cause, and hope you’ll help us continue this work. Adoptions are vital to an agency’s lifesaving mission. The quantity and quality of shelter adoptions is in shelter management’s hands, making lifesaving a direct function of shelter policies and practice.

Fostering Saves Lives!

One of our goals is to ensure that the most vulnerable and at-risk animals in the greater Waianae area are safe and have their basic needs taken care of. Foster care is a low-cost, and often no-cost way of increasing a shelter’s capacity, caring for sick and injured or behaviorally challenged animals, and thus saving more lives. With your generous donations and volunteering efforts, you have the capacity to help us in our endeavor.

Treat Others as You’d Like to Be Treated

Volunteers are a dedicated “army of compassion” and the backbone of a successful rescue effort. There is never enough staff, never enough dollars to hire more staff, and always more needs than paid human resources. That is where volunteers make the difference between success and failure and, for the animals, life and death. Sign on to volunteer with a local rescue today!
